The DS1867-100+ should be compared mainly with other DS1867 resistance options and related dual digital potentiometer devices. DS1867-10+ and DS1867-50+ share the same basic architecture, 3-wire serial interface, dual 256-position control, and EEPROM wiper storage, but offer lower resistance values for different analog impedance requirements. DS1867E-100+ is a useful comparison when the same 100kΩ function is needed in a surface-mount package instead of a 14-PDIP through-hole package.
DS1267-100+ is similar in digital potentiometer function, but the key selection difference is nonvolatile memory: DS1867 retains programmed wiper positions after power-down, while DS1267 is generally better suited for applications where stored power-off settings are not required. For legacy repair, prototyping, or socketed boards, DS1867-100+ is preferred; for compact SMT production, consider the surface-mount DS1867 package options.
